Remind me never to go windsurfing in the rain again - it was foul here in
Felixstowe today, even the poor old carnival was cancelled :( no air show
or fireworks ! It had been heavy rain all morning but stopped for awhile
just after dinner time, couldn't take watching the Grand Prix anymore -
so'oooooooooooo boring and Lewis Hamilton was having a mare so decided to
take my gear to The Dip. Strawberryand Steve Carter were out with 5m and
the sea was big with the tide getting high so not ideal, I went with 5.6 on
my wave board - this is not my favourite kind of sailing so it was never
going to work for me :( I had to repair a small hole in my sail and then
just as I was about to launch I discovered my mast wasn't together right so
had to de-rig and start again :( I managed to get off the beach in a big
shore break but struggled to get going - I eventually got going but I find
it hard work on small kit and knackering. I had a few runs on the wave
board and then tried the 100lt board but the sea seemed a mess to me and I
couldn't see with my rainy glasses on - should have put my contact lenses
in !!! so packed up and went home - more like November than July :( At
least Strawberry and Steve were having a good time !
